It's an honor once again to be selected to be keyboardist for the Metro Big Band's Missions Outreach to Portugal.

Project Objective: Since the Metro Big Band under the direction of Camp Kirkland has been to Portugal a few times, the respect for this group has also grown. The group will hold concerts in cooperation with local churches who are church planting to give the projects more visibility in these communities. There will be time for workshops with local musicians as we are trying to begin a community orchestra among local churches. Concerts in public venues will also help the local IMB missionaries as they try to make in-roads in local communities.

Project Highlights: Prayer walking will target neighborhoods, when possible, before concerts. Interacting with local musicians (mostly students) through workshops and concerts will help new church plants to build relationships in their communities.

It will be an honor getting to know Portugal’s diverse people, the culture and how we can support them. The cost for this Music Mission Project is $3,090 and includes air and ground transportation, accommodations, breakfast, insurance, Project Development, entrance fees and a GMP Travel Leader.
