Sue's Blog

Haiti December 2013

There will always be the question in my mind, "Did I experience every single second to its fullest? Did I take advantage of every hug and every kiss? Was I fully present during every waking moment?" I don't know the answer to any of that, because it felt like a dream. All I know is: I felt God's presence stronger in this impoverished place, more than any other place in the world. The children will teach you much. There were fun moments; hilarious moments. But there were also moments when you didn't think you could ever take another deep breath again. I am grateful for the privilege to share my life with the children of Jeremie.

Sue, after serving in Haiti for almost thirty years, I SO wish that I would have documented what you were able to capture in just a few short minutes on video. The technology today is so far advanced than when I was a missionary there, back in the 60s. I'm so glad you continue to put yourself out there. I'm so glad that you have no pretense or facade about your life. To me - you're the purity of everything ministry. I love that you bring laughter to this country that so needs the joy of Christ. You have made a life-lasting impression on those kids. I pray that you'll see them rise up one day, and call you blessed. They will.
Oh, Sue. I'm in tears here. You've captured it. What a privilege to share this bit of heaven with you. I love you!
